The Matrix of Destiny is a numerological system based on the Natalia Ladini method using 22 Major Tarot Arcana as personality archetypes. Based on the date of birth, 17 points on an octagram map are calculated: the center (essence), four corners (foundation), four outer points (challenges) and eight inner points (potentials). Each point receives a value of 1–22 corresponding to a Major Arcanum. The interpretation reveals dominant archetypes, karmic lessons, shadows and talents — structurally and psychologically precise.
Where it comes from
The Matrix of Destiny is recent — it was put together by Natalia Ladini in Russia in the 2000s and spread through the Russian-speaking world before reaching Western practice. It borrows the twenty-two major arcana of the tarot as a set of personality archetypes and arranges them on a geometric figure, which makes it a hybrid: the symbols come from tarot, the method is entirely numerological.
How the method works
The day, month and year of birth are reduced to values between one and twenty-two and placed at the four corners of an octagram. Every other point on the figure is derived by adding two neighbours and reducing again, which fills in seventeen positions in all: a centre that is read as the core of the person, four corners for the inherited foundation, four outer points for the recurring difficulties and eight inner points for latent capacity. Each number is then read as its major arcanum — a fifteen at a challenge point is read through the Devil, a nine at the centre through the Hermit — and the reading is in how the arcana repeat and relate across the figure, not in any one of them alone.

A reading gives the full map with all seventeen values and their arcana, which archetypes dominate and which repeat, the inherited pattern read from the corners, the difficulties read from the outer points and the capacities read from the inner ones.

- Do I need my birth time?
- No. The matrix is built from the date alone.
- Is this tarot or numerology?
- The arithmetic is numerology; the tarot supplies the vocabulary. No cards are drawn — every position is calculated, so two people born on the same day get the same matrix.
- Why does the same arcanum appear several times?
- The derived points are sums of their neighbours, so repetition is built into the geometry. A number that comes up repeatedly is read as the dominant theme of the chart.
